Leadership Development in San Antonio
de-sire a longing or craving, as for something that brings satisfaction or enjoyment. (Dictionary.com) "If it is to be, it is up to me!” was the battle cry of one my my recent clients. The reality is, there is only one person that is responsible for your success in life—YOU! Family, friends, pastors and colleagues can influence you and provide support, but the ultimate responsibility is with you.
Desire can be developed and increased with a specific action plan. Ever feel like your “heart” needs and energy drink? Here are 4 action steps that a Red Bull or Monster can’t touch!
1) Clearly define your goals. What do you want…more importantly…why do you want it? It is impossible to have desire without a clear “why” you want to reach your goal.
2) Identify your passion. What is a cause you will fight for? What do you enjoy doing more than anything else?
3) Learn to overcome obstacles. How do you respond to adversity? Many turn and run…not YOU!
4) Be willing to pay a price. The old saying “blood sweat and tears” applies. What ever it takes!
“You can really have everything you want, if you go after it, but you have to want it. The desire for success must be so strong within you that it is every breath of your life–your first thought when you awaken in the morning, your last thought when you go to bed at night.” – Charles E. Popplestone
